The TIFF format’s strength is its print-oriented flexibility through features such as tiling, multiple color spaces and LZW compression. It was the first graphical file format to focus on the print appearance and it includes the ability to have multiple images in one file. The ability to store image data in a lossless format makes a TIFF file a useful image archive, because a TIFF file using lossless compression (or no compression at all) may be edited and re-saved without losing image quality.

TIFF files, because of their size, are less than ideal for web display and this is where Contenta Converter PREMIUM can be a huge assist. Using Contenta Converter PREMIUM you can load a TIFF file and convert it to formats like JPG, GIF, PNG, WBMP, PPM, PGM, PBM, XPM and ICO. I will demonstrate the quick and easy way to do this with Contenta Converter PREMIUM.

Step 1: Select your photos.

Click on the Add Photos button and select from your computer the .TIF photos you wish to convert. Then click the ‘Next’ button.

Selecting TIF files for conversion with Contenta Converter PREMIUM

Step 2: Configure the conversion job

Make sure the “Do convert to format” check box is checked and select the format. In this example we picked JPEG, but the drop down menu also gives you more than a dozen other formats! You can also select a different output folder if you want to. This is the location where the files converted to JPEG will be stored.

Select which format to convert to using Contenta Converter Premium

All done!

Click start and soon you will see the final screen and you will have your new .JPG file that are only 10% the file size of the original .TIF file.

File conversion success!
