The Olympus digital cameras are designed with revolutionary features that expand the frontiers of digital photography. An Olympus digital camera will produce uncompressed ORF RAW photographs with the information stored exactly how it was captured by the camera’s sensor, with no compression or color adjustment. Contenta Converter PREMIUM currently supports pictures taken with the Olympus E-330, Olympus E-400, Olympus SP310 and many more models (Click here for the full list of supported cameras). The quality of these images is fantastic, but frequently you will need to convert the Olympus ORF format, to a more common format like BMP or JPEG.

I will demonstrate the quick and easy way to do this with Contenta Converter PREMIUM.

Step 1: Select your photos.

Click on the Add Photos button and select from your computer the .ORF photos you wish to convert. Then click the ‘Next’ button.

Selecting Olympus ORF files for conversion with Contenta Converter PREMIUM

Step 2: Configure the conversion job

Make sure the “Do convert to format” checkbox is checked and select the format. In this example we picked BMP, but the drop down menu also gives you the choices for JPEG, JPEG 2000, PNG and more than a dozen other formats! You can also select a different output folder if you want to. This is the location where the files converted to BMP will be stored.

Select which format to convert to using Contenta Converter Premium

All done!

Click start and soon you will see the final screen and you will have your new BMP files! Tip – We always suggest you save the original ORF files as these will have the best quality if you ever need to convert to other formats in the future.

The BMP format is one of the oldest graphics file formats dating back to the days of black and white printers and monitors. It was designed for fast display on your monitor. A positive feature of the BMP format is that repeated use and editing does not degrade the image (something that can happen with JPEG, DIF and other lossy formats). The main disadvantage of BMP files is the huge file sizes which makes it less than ideal for use on web pages or for use with email.

This is where Contenta Converter PREMIUM can be a huge assist. Using Contenta Converter PREMIUM you can load a BMP file and convert it to formats like JPG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, WBMP, PPM, PGM, PBM, XPM and ICO. I will demonstrate the quick and easy way to do this with Contenta Converter PREMIUM.

Step 1: Select your photos.

Click on the Add Photos button and select from your computer the .BMP photos you wish to convert. Then click the ‘Next’ button.

Select which format to convert to using Contenta Converter Premium

All done!

Click start and soon you will see the final screen and you will have your new .JPG file which is tiny compared to the original .BMP file.

Successful Contenta Converter PREMIUM file conversion
