Sony digital cameras will produce uncompressed ARW RAW photographs with the information stored exactly how it was captured by the camera’s sensor, with no compression or color adjustment. Contenta Converter PREMIUM currently supports pictures taken with many different Sony cameras (Click here for the full list of supported cameras). JPEG 2000, or JP2,  is a variation of the more  popular JPEG format.  The JPEG 2000 has the same benefits and issues as JPEG with the primary difference being that if a file is highly compressed – a JP2 file will retain more quality than a JPG file.

The main limitation with JPEG 2000 is that it is a lossy format.  Every time a JPEG 2000 file is edited and saved some visual quality is lost in the process and cannot be restored.  Thus JPEG 2000 is not well suited to files that will undergo multiple edits.  Indeed, the JPEG 2000 format can not be used in astronomical or medical imaging where the exact reproduction of the data is required.

If you need to edit a JPEG 2000 file, you should save it to a lossless format such as PNG, make the edits, and then create a JPEG 2000 for distribution. • Clone the original sub-folder structure. If you add photos from folder1 and folder2, after conversion you will find your converted photos in the same folder structure inside the output directory.
• When converting from a RAW format to JPG, it is now possible to only extract the previews contained as metadata inside the RAW files. A faster way to get JPG preview without developing the full RAW information.
• Portuguese language added.
