Using Contenta Converter PREMIUM to convert PPM files
PPM, which stands for portable pixmap file, is an older and very basic graphical file format. A positive feature of the PPM format is that repeated use and editing does not degrade the image (something that can happen with JPEG, DIF and other lossy formats). The main disadvantage of PPM files is the huge file sizes which makes it less than ideal for use on web pages or for use with email.

Step 1: Select your photos.
Click on the Add Photos button and select from your computer the .PPM photos you wish to convert. Then click the ‘Next’ button.

Step 2: Configure the conversion job
Make sure the “Do convert to format” checkbox is checked and select the format. In this example we picked JPEG, but the drop down menu also gives you the choices for TIFF, JPEG 2000, PNG and more than a dozen other formats! You can also select a different output folder if you want to. This is the location where the files converted to PNG will be stored.
