How to convert 3FR files with Contenta Converter PREMIUM
For over fifty years, Hasselblad has been devoted to producing the finest camera equipment known to man. A Hasselblad digital camera will produce uncompressed 3FR RAW photographs with the information stored exactly how it was captured by the camera’s sensor, with no compression or color adjustment. Contenta Converter PREMIUM currently supports pictures taken with the Hasselblad CFV and the Hasselblad H3D cameras. The quality of these images is fantastic, but frequently you will need to convert the Hasselblad 3FR format, to a more common format like TIFF or JPEG.
I will demonstrate the easy and pain free way to do this with Contenta Converter PREMIUM.
Step 1: Select your photos.
Click on the Add Photos button and select from your computer the .3FR photos you wish to convert. Then click the ‘Next’ button.
Step 2: Configure the conversion job
Make sure the “Do convert to format” checkbox is checked and select the format. In this example we picked TIFF, but the drop down menu also gives you the choices for JPEG, JPEG 2000, PNG and more than a dozen other formats! You can also select a different output folder if you want to. This is the location where the files converted to TIFF will be stored.
Optional:
The program will default to preserve EXIF/IPTC/XMP metadatas which will preserve all the details about the photo – date it was taken, brand of camera used, model of camera used and much more detail. You can choose to turn this off to make the file a bit smaller or to hide any of that information. You can also choose to make the file multipage, which we have done in the image below. This will save the two images we have selected into one TIFF file.
Click Start and Name the output file:
Since we selected multipage the images will be added to one file which we have to named as shown below:
All done!
Moments later, you will see the final screen and you have your new TIFF file! Tip – We always suggest you save the original 3FR files as these will have the best quality if you ever need to convert to other formats in the future.
